Well went up to my two storage garages (my garage was demolished ) and inspected all my three trolls, 1978, 1972 and OJ. All still there

I charged the battery on Ozzie. I realized it was stone cold dead when I was trying to identify the Mystery part!

bit of an update on hermit, my daily driver. i cut off the stuffed, holed and half melted old exhaust muffler sitting under the door, and then after finding that none of the spare muffler units i have here come close to fitting, i designed and made up (with a bit of help and input from my father- who also supplied my materials) a new stainless steel twin pipe muffler. initial response to it once installed was WOW!!! significantly more power up top and a lot more torque down low as well. the motor gained another 500rpm up top- revving out at 4000rpm under load- she used to choke at 3400-3500, and the best bit??? she is only half as loud as she was. i can converse with my passenger!!!!! it seems to have improved fuel economy somewhat too, but i need to put a few tanks through to confirm that.....

i finally received my mk patrol front suspension bush/shackle kit this morning, so my best mate and i pulled the front packs from the donor mk troll, pulled 2 leaves out of each pack (gives the same rate as the springs that were already in, just single rate not progressive), cleaned them up and installed them into the front of the ute. the ride quality is better- not nearly as harsh or sharp over the bumps as she was, steering is more firm and responsive, not light and wandery- the steering is a touch lighter too . did i mention the 65mm height increase???? have to do the rear sus now to even everything up

any way im quietly pleased with myself atm, the exhaust by itself has completely changed the ute for the better.
short list for the next few weeks is wire up the uhf, install a set of driving lights, wheel arch flares to keep mr plod away, and do up a new set of rear springs to match the lift and ride quality of the fronts.

I'd be interested in seeing the exhaust setup as well. Do you have extractors on it?

ill get some pics as soon as i can, i only took a couple whilst making it in a rush- needed her back on the road asap.

i do have extractors but i have not fitted them as yet. i think extractors and this muffler set up would see a bit more power again, not that she really needs it, the "little" efi 4.1 ford donk already goes like a small block v8....
likely i will make up another one of these mufflers for my swb later this year, and possibly a pair of smaller ones for my mate who has the 308 v8 in his g60.

most recent job was fitting narva rear led combo lights,also made up some galvanised mounting plates.

I moved my patrols to their new home this week.... have enough room in new shop to put three in the shop and still have room to work.... could shove a couple more if need be..but i think three is enough...
