Since you have the P40 engine, the distributor is the same as in Rick's picture. You need the following from Pertronix:

PART # 1761

Look for Pertronix 1761 at Amazon. Better price than the one I paid 8 years ago.

Also note that it is the same number as call for the early Hitachi distributor of the 280Z.

I can see that you have the more modern distributor. Did you buy it recently or was already in the vehicle when you purchase it?

I also noted that you have the brake master cylinder of an american car, with an extension structure to mount it. Great. It will be easier when the time comes to put a booster in there.

You once mentioned that you have an overdrive in this Patrol. Pictures please!

Thanks for the kind words! I bought the distributor recently. It is the Helmar P40 compatible unit, their part no. 22100-C7000. The Pertronix 1761 Ignitor I bought 12 years ago, thinking I could fit it into the water protect distributor I had, but it no such luck. If I were buying it today, I would opt for the 91761 Ignitor II version which protects itself from a meltdown if the ignition is left on and the engine is not running and some better performance over a wider RPM range. I just followed Moore_rb's excellent directions in his how to for the pertronix ignition, and it started right up, first try.

The brake master is a 67' Corvette which works with the 4 wheel disc brakes I converted using Chevy truck calipers in the front and Cadillac Seville/Eldorado in the rear. Chevy Truck Rotors (fronts were 3/4 ton 4WD-fronts and rears were 1/2 ton 4wd front rotors) and farm engineered mounts. Here are some old pics from the gallery under npca-rickg.

I will try to get some shots of the OD unit and post them. It is a Borg Warner R10.. something. It was fitted to many three speed transmissions from the forties through the even the seventies. It came with engine and trans I bought including a simple 1" thick plate that was machined to mate the patrol trans with the OD unit, and a shortened rear drive shaft. Here is some interesting reading about the functionality of the unit. http://www.fordification.com/tech/overdrive.htm
It really does make the patrol highway capable without straining the old under square engine.

Wow! I've been dreaming on an overdrive for ages. Incredible the setup. Thanks for posting it.

Since I have a MWB, that's ~12" longer, it could be fitted without much drama.

I wonder where can I get a hold of one. Need to start there.

My dream is for a Marks 5-Speed! Anyone want to sell one to the family patrol? ;-)

I would still like to get an trans/tfer case up to the guy in Canada to adapt the Global Roamer one to the Patrol, which appears very doable but I havent been able to find anyone up in Wash willing to take a ride up there or ship one up for me.

Hey Rick

Would you mind getting some pics of the Brackets you made for the Disc Brake conversions? Any more info would be helpful.
