Thanks Zed, this old beat up war dog gives me hope that we may not need too many spares because, believe me....they are impossible to obtain. Now that we know our position you start looking at all the little widgets. I'd buy another if it was cheap, very cheap and looked to have valuable spares.
My crew is wiring in the computer now. Hopefully we will rolling in the Chinolet within two weeks.
Patrolling with no Spares,

Greetings,
The whole story is that the fully rebuilt motor and T400 sound super smooth.........most of the time....however during start up and as it winds down when turned off it makes a horrendous metallic scrapping/rattling noise. It is a noise I have never heard before in my life. Daniel is coming back Tues & Weds to try to run it down.
Later this morning I'll get some pictures of the motor and how they sandwiched the transmission cooler between the radiator and belt.
I thought I took some video but I guess I didn't. I'll get some.

I hope you sort out this soon. Look for the simple and obvious first. I have the feeling that this might be some external rattling noise, like an exhaust pipe touching the body or chassis, at the instances that you describe. I could bet some money on it.
