Great find, Mark. Glad you got it home safe and sound. Do post lots of pics. I may hit you up for the measurements on your troop seats as mine were long gone when I picked up my Patrol. Keep us all posted on your progress.

Okay, you've had it long enough. We need pictures!!!

lol.........Took them today and will load them tonight. Today I took the spark plugs out to add a little lube to each cylinder. OMG, wait till you see the spark plugs that were in this green monster.....Geeezzzz. Anyway, I lubed the cylinders up with fogging oil that I use on my Volvo-Penta 4.3L boat engine. I let the fogging oil sit in the cylinders for a few hrs. I crawled under, placed a wrench on the crank nut and rotated it with ease.....whew! I then placed a battery on it, placed a little gas in the carb and turned the key. The little Patrol almost started!! Im going to purchase new spark plugs, points, rotor, distributor cap, change the oil and clean the carb. Im sure it will start. I dont want to get ahead of myself. I want to walk through the list of startup items that I initially posted. The one thing I like it how simple things are. For instance, if you need access to the front of the engine to replace something, you can pull the front of the Patrol off with just a few bolts. Pretty cool.

You know......I think I will. Looks bullet proof. Is our Hitachi Distributor any of the four below?

It really doesn't make a difference which model number the distributor is. For the Pertronix kit the only difference is whether it is water-protect or non-water-protect. Most of the US Patrols have the water-protect distributor, which would be the second one listed in the referenced post. Everyone that has installed them has loved them.
