Wow, i lost what Appeared to be a lot of oil yesterday when trying to get the valve cover sealed. Still registers high. I will take a pic of the dent in the oil pan and we can see if theres a math matician out there who can asses the volume....could be fun... Right? I Sure am glad some one created this thread... Its like they had me in mind.

When I first found the dent i thought it may be interfearing with the oil pick up tube or the pump. doesn;t seeb to be the case oil preasure seems to be fine. Gets to the top end ok. havent had the pan off to look for sure. When I do i'll try to take out the dent.

Been there, done that. Someone else was driving my Patrol and caused a dent and I had to drive it out of a canyon then 50 miles back home. I smelled burning oil the whole way. I guess I was getting some blow-by because the engine was overfull with oil due to the dent. The dipstick read way overfull. I pulled the pan off and beat out the dent, but it wasn't easy. The oil pans is reinforced on the bottom. Put the pan back on and it was all good, even with the little chunk missing from the engine block. :?

They don't all have skid plates. Only a few. And the skid plate mounts changed over the years so they don't interchange. :|

Ok new question, what type of antifreeze should we be using in the 60 series Patrol. There is a lot of new stuff out there. After reading a little bit on if it really matters, Apparently it does.
