Well, the Plasti-dip is finally all off. I am so glad to be done buying Goo -gone. I have found a couple bondo spots and dents hiding under the Plasti-dip but for the most part its all good. Should be cake to sand off the Rattle can camo and get down to the original paint. Then I think she will be sprayed White. Have my eye's on some Wheels and Tires too. been working hard on side jobs to raise the cash. It's a real battle not just working on the Patrol but the beast needs funding. Will get some more pic's in when I get it all sanded.

Hey Andrew How you doing. I don't know if she is in better hands but I got her road werthy. All the plastidip is now off. (I curse you a little for that) Is was sprayed to thin to peal off so I had to work really hard to get it off. The old camo job is tuff on D/A sander pads 150 grit. Rattle can paint is gummy. Should have a fresh coat of paint this spring some time. Stay tuned!

I have had no time for working on the Patrol here the last couple weeks. I am how ever making lots of cash for parts etc. And I did finaly score a front Bumper! Whoop!

You are welcome...

Try using a wet/dry 150 pad on your DA, and use a spray bottle with water and a drop of dish washing soap in it in your other hand and keep the panel wet ahead of the sander - that old spray paint should melt right off.

Hey thanks. I havent been on in a while just saw the post. I havent had time to work on the Patrol for a bit as I'm working lots of extra hours Designing houses, Buildings, Etc.
Getting a good bank roll going for the Patrol though. I have decided I need a bigger air compresser as well. Spotted a decent price on a 60 gal at Depot for $469.00... Looks pretty good and the price is rite. I'll be back at it soon. I did have the front bumper sand blasted and got most of the bend out on the right side. Have the paint ready to spray it.
Just need to get out there!

Well, With the long week end I made plans to work on the Patrol. ( Saturday)First... Go buy a new Air compressor worthy of a D/A Sander. This turned onto an all day event, not the purchase but the install and making room in the garage for this beast. Still need to anchor it to the concrete but will have to wait.( Sunday) Spent all day sanding off the horrible rattle can camo job, feathered out all the deep scratches, looks like some one drove through barbed wire on a regular basis. Got it all off except under the hard top on the windsheild. Guess I'll have to take it off now. I'm a little scared. Also made a new discovery that I didn't notice befor. The drivers side fender vent door is a terrible fab job. Actually its not that bad but in no way matches the original. I MUST get a new one. Looks so much better with out the camo. Even though it still doesn't look that great.

Ya I was feeling pretty good till I just saw the post on the Barn find! That thing looked good Just like mine should look!
