We aren't big fans of bondo, so not very good at it, but it's close for paint

Well done Matt, I wish mine could get the same expertise! I am happy with Rafael's work for sure but the rust remaining is another monster for someone else to slay...but I'm working on it.
Keep up the good work.

My garage finally dropped below 105, so I decided to do some real work. I think I found the hardest nut to remove on the entire truck. What's your guess?? Hint it's part of the front end... and it's still there.....

Rear end is off hoping to get the frame to sandblasting in a few weeks

Hmmm...I was thinking tow hook ( I had to cut the bolts off mine with a grinder ), but you did say front end, so...tailshaft to front diff ?

cheers,

Matt's restro

The rebound bumper bolts on the front end was the worst nut so far...

On another note my axel seems to have been broke at some point. ImageI called the guy I bought the patrol from and he confirmed. It broke some 25 years ago.. think I should start looking for a replacement?? He drove it for years on it as is... I also have two broken leaf springs, it never ends.. 8).

They did a good job fixing the axle if it lasted that long. With normal driving it will probably last a lot longer.

I'm pretty sure I should put this under the quick stupid questions, but from the manual on springs I'm I correct in saying the spring rate on the front 1100 lbs? And rear 1300? I'm a little confused. A lesson in patrol springs would be great before I take them down to the shop to get made.
