I've been using the regular Prestone at 50/50 for 9 years, without a single glitch.

I know that aluminum engines are very touchy on this, and the antifreeze manufacturers just use a CYA approach.

But what harm can you anticipate?

Actually the 1978 Service Manual has this:

Permanent anti-freeze coolant is an ethylene glycol base product containing chemical inhibi­tors to protect the cooling system against corro­sion.
The anti-freeze does not contain any glycerine, ethyl or methyl alcohol. It will not evaporate or boil away and can be used with either high or low temperature thermostat. It flows freely, transfers heat efficiently, and will not clog the passages in the cooling system. The anti-freeze must not be mixed with other products. This coolant can be used throughout the seasons of the year.
Whenever coolant is changed, the cooling system should be flushed and refilled with a new coolant. Check the level. See the instructions attached to the anti-freeze as to the ratio of an anti-freeze and water.

I agree with Esteban 100%... cheap, green, ethylene glycol anti-freeze, mixed 50-50 with distilled water is all your 60 Patrol will ever need.

Everything in the Patrol cooling system is cast iron, rubber, or brass... There is no need for any of these expensive, newer coolant formulas designed to prevent electrolysis in Aluminum engine parts.

Working on some wiring issues, on the instroment panel there are 3 light bulbs at the top. 2 are the turn signals... what is the middle one it has a red lense. I believe the wiring diagram shows it conected to the dimmer switch. Is it the high beam indicator? Also i have no lights to the rear break, tail, or signals. Could this be the relay?

Yes that is the high beam indicator. It wouldn't have any connection to the rear lights though, you'll need to look elsewhere. I have the same problem on my '79 that I have yet to track down the problem.

ok got a quike one, Wireing up tail lights. Got all working but brake lights. Looked at the diagram and I guess there is a GY wire that
should be tied to the WR wire going into the signal light???? Is that correct? The diagram is hard to read.
