yesterday also saw the completion of the exhaust system, which is dual 2.5" to single 3", and the installation of the transmission covers. it looks pretty good! There is just one exhaust leak i need to fix, and I am waiting on a gasket to come in.

Now that the engine work is done (I got the radiator and hoses in yesterday), Its time to start on suspension. First, out with the front axle and disassembly! First up is the custom disc brake conversion.
the patrol now has speakers! i made my own custom speaker brackets/holders, came out pretty good, and i got all 4 speakers for free! the front passenger side is basically the same install as driver side.
Any special reason why you added the extra leaf in the spring? I like the fact of the curved geometry with less friction contact to the rest. Will be very interesting to see how it perform.
Weight wise, how is the Chevy/tranny power train comparing with the P engine one?

That extra spring was already on the patrol when I got it. I'm guessing the spring pack was sagging a bit so previous owner added a helper? And I have wondered about the weight question...honestly I think the v8 weighs less or the same as the P engine.
