Yay! Progress!
Yes, you'll need the spacer. Where did you find the pump?
If your Patrol is a '69 the dash light would have been in the glove box attached to the inside of the door.

Yes its the 69, So was there a switch for on and off for the light in the glove box. Also looking at the wiring diagram what do the Arrows mean? Is that a solid ground to the chassy? On another note, you mentioned that the 4 way flasher has its own flasher unit. Is it in the switch it self? or external like the blinkers? The reason I ask is I don't see another on my patrol.

The on/off switch is located on the light itself. It is very much like this one on eBay: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Datsun-240z-280 ... 61&vxp=mtr The only difference between this one and the one for the Patrol is that the Patrol version has two wires coming off the lite instead of just one. The second wire is your ground wire. That's easy to fix, I've done it before.IrishPatrol wrote:Yes its the 69, So was there a switch for on and off for the light in the glove box. Notice on the bottom there is a red wire and a green wire coming coming out of the housing; the green wire is your ground wire. It won't work for a ground on the Patrol this way because the glove box door isn't grounded. Using a soldering iron, melt the solder that is keeping the green wire on the housing. Then simply put a connector on the end of the wire and connect it to the ground wire in the glove box. The tabs on the light housing are used to mount the light to the glove box door.

Re: The Quick/Small/(Stupid?) Question Thread.
Is it possible to have a descent running patrol when your Distibutor is 180 deg. out????/ reason I ask is I am getting ready to drop in a replacement for the water protection model and was checking things getting ready. I cranked it over till the top dead center lins on the pully lined up and checked the roter under the cap and its pointing to #6 or there about. am I 180 out??? is this possible. It runs pretty good. My understanding is that when the marks are lined up I should have the roter pointing to #1. Is this correct?

Give another turn to the crankshaft and it will end in #1. In one revolution the piston ends up at the top of compression, and in the next at the top of exhaust. Cyl 6 will do the opposite to 1.

When you're at TDC, pull the #1 spark plug and check that the piston is at the top of it's stroke. You can just stick a screwdriver in the spark plug hole to 'feel' if the piston is up. That will confirm that you are at TCD for #1 firing position.

Ok, here is one for the experts. Just how fast will these Patrols go anyway? Is 60 mph to fast? i have no RPM guage. I am running 15 " wheels and 265 tires which are smaller than original specs, so I figure my speedometer is off a little. How ever when I get it up into the 50 mph range its a little like re entering the atmosphere in the space shuttle.
