Ok, since this post is way off course already I will ask a question...
I want to remove the valve cover so I can paint it. Do you know the required torque to tighten the bolts or can I just tighten them real snug?
Sorry, not a mechanic... (I'm sure the "snug" term gave it away)
thanks,
Kris

for a valve cover, "snug" is just about right...
as opposed to being "cranked", "torqued" or "snapped" ....

Had the day off yesterday. I was able to finish priming the interior, paint the steering wheel, install a fuel filter in the sediment bowl and then before work this morning I went over all the gaps/seams with paintable mastic for that clean look(pictures taken before so you will see cracks). I also started working on some of the dash pieces/gauges.
I need to sand and prime the windshield frame then I will be able to shoot some paint

Ya like that, hu?
I even bought a new 6ft cable to hook it up. I don't like to get dirty or I'd install it

I'll bet 6 feet of battery cable was more expensive than the battery itself...

Battery was free (previous owner gave it to me) the cable was $9. I did everything I could NOT to buy it but had to

I was about 90% ready to shoot the interior when I realized I needed to cut out the seat pan thingy that was installed by a previous owner. When I was cutting it out it threw debri and cooked rubber crap all over the place. It sat me back a few hours.
Here is the latest progress..
First pic is with the gray paint. This was my first attempt at spraying. I have since sanded and prepped for re-spray.
