Well, I haven't provided an update on our 63 Patrol in awhile. I had the seats recovered a few weeks ago. In the past, I put a new brake master cylinder on it. Installed a new high beam switch (Headlights wouldn't come on and I saw that the circuit ran through the high beam switch when reviewing the wiring diagram), Installed aftermarket wiper motors. I have also included pictures of the dealer installed am radio and the material that supports the soft top from the inside. We drive it weekly and just surpassed 6,000 original miles. We get questioned each time we are out. It is too fun!

Thanks to everyone for making this so easy. Your expertise is amazing.

showme,
what aftermarket wiper motors did you end up using? How was the fit?

I purchased it from EBAY.

Very good fit. Looks very similar to the original.

I moved these posts to this thread. You do such great stuff with your Patrol I think it's a good idea to find it all in one place.

Thank you Showme,
Your pictures will help my mechanics put the soft top on, plus your Ebay find on the wiper motors is tremendous as the previous solution of by the "willy's type" from Jegs is not a solution for me.
Well done,

Installed a receiver hitch in place of the Pintle unit. The Curt 13091 hitch is a direct bolt on in place of the Pintle unit.

Wow. I like the receiver hitch.

Over in Oz we can slot in a recovery hitch which is used for 4WD recovery. We have given up using tow balls! The front of the G60 has the hook which is fantastic for recovery but the rear lacks a connection point.

Any idea of how it is rated? We seem to have tow bars rated at either 2000Kgs or 3500kgs.

Any idea of what the back chassis can tow without bending ? Although I suspect you would loose traction before the chassis gave way.

I've seen some nasty results of using tow balls for recovery.

The back chassis is actually part of the vehicle frame, so there is no chance of bending it from towing. Gotta love the boxed steel frame of the Patrol. 8-)
