CHEVY RIMS and PATROL HUBS

Really old stuff that got saved. Here are the old Nissan Patrol Club America messages from the 'General' category. Warning, it's dusty in here!

CHEVY RIMS and PATROL HUBS

Post by npca-grant »

Hey gang.   Got a question, saw a chevy 2 door TAHO the other day. It was not the 4x4 type, but it had a set of stock 16" rims that look pretty good... and I think would look real good on my patrol. Only thing is I dont think the center hole will fit over hub/lock. Does anyone know if you can cut the center holes bigger, if necessary? Is that a good idea? ie safe? Or, I have seen some pic of patrols, usally older pictures where the hub/locks look much smaller then the ones I have... are they after market hubs you can buy that are smaller in diameter? Anyway, thanks for any info.. Oh by the by my engine should be done in a few days, got lots of pics Ill be posting soon.   Grant

My 69 patrol with old warn hubs measure 4 3/16", a good machine shop can easily cut the center hole larger on a CNC mill.

Grant, The hubs are easy. Call: 1-800-THE-JEEP (843-5337) or go to http://www.thejeep.com/superwinch/hubs.html  They carry Superwinch products and even list hubs for the Patrol. They list #400507 for 1969-1979 but I doubt if there is any differnce in the older Patrols. I had a set of beat-up Warns on mine that required about 300 degrees rotation to lock them. My new Superwinch hubs require about 45 degrees rotation to lock and are very smooth. The price is the same as I paid, $102.95. As you know all six lug wheels fit the Patrol if the center hole fits. If you can get the same wheels off of a Chev 4x4 you won't have to modify them. Look into Toyota 4x4 wheels also. They fit without modifying them. Thats what I found for my Patrol I'm suprised the TAHOE 4x2 wheels are six lug.   Good Luck
