Rings & bearings
Hi guys I'm new here and I've been looking through your old conversations and it occurs to me that there is no mentoin of bearings or rings. These two things are impotrant to me because I need them. I have a now parked '69 L60 that I've had for two years. I was on your site about 1.5 years ago but have not had a commputer to get on since untill now, so here I am. In the last two years I have replaced valves, and rings. The problem is that the only set of rings I could find were standard. I honed the walls and put it back together without micing out the cylinders. I did this in frame. Now I need to pull the motor, and do it right, so I'm wondering if any of you have any great ideas? I saw a picture on this site the other day that showed a stock frech rebuild, any one know who owned it? I also saw a site that told of a place called" motor power inc" has anyone of you tried there kit? Did it work? Any info I can get on bearings & or rings would nice.

Hi Rick Ill bet you can get them at moto power inc, here is the link http://www.motorpower.net/pricing/p40.html I know they have oversized pistons, so Ill bet they have rings and bearings. There is a phone number at that link, call them if you dont see what you need or have a question. The guy is real helpful, and the prices are hard to beat! Nice thing about the P40 engine is that NISSAN used it in their forklifts, and that is what this sight caters to. So, about the only thing listed there I would have a question about is the cam shaft... not sure if it would be the same as the PATROL's orginal. Anway, if that doesnt work, I have a parts manual that lists the part numbers for the oversized bearins, never check, but NISSAN may still have them in stock. Grant

Rick, My rings and bearings came straight from Nissan. They are .040 oversize so maybe they only have non-standard sizes. Besides the company that Grant suggests try Nissan Autoparts in Oklahoma .http://www.nissanautoparts.com/index.html You can get pricing online but will have to wait for a reply on availablity. OR 1-800-725-7911 ask for Peggy

Rick, I purchased the Motor Power Inc kit and had it installed early this summer. I got everything except the cam. It works great. Starts right up. The carb still sucks though. I don't think it is jetted correctly for my altitude. Does anyone know of a place to get high altitude jets for the Rochester carb? David

Hey Roc8man! Im this close to getting my engine rebuld, I was wondering about the cam... Did you not get it because you didnt need it, or because that cam is different the the PATROL's cam, ie a cam set up for fork lifts? Thanks a mill! Grant

Grant, I didn't need the cam so I passed on getting it. Talk to the guys at Motorpower. They seem pretty sharp. David
