Patrol project advice

Really old stuff that got saved. Here are the old Nissan Patrol Club America messages from the 'General' category. Warning, it's dusty in here!

Patrol project advice

Post by npca-riverpatrol »

A general question for any and all: Just what is the availability of various parts for the '60's Patrols?   The reason I ask - I have recently started what could turn out to be a rather frustrating project. I've had my eye on a particular '66 Patrol for about 13 years and it finally came up for sale; naturally I grabbed it. While it had very little mileage put on it in that time, the owner left it parked under his sprinklers, so the body is trashed - every nut and bolt is rusted and breaks off when wrenched. It has no windshield, no driver or passenger doors, no top, front and rear seats are destroyed, dash panels are rusted, etc. etc. But, IT RUNS ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFULLY!!! Don't even need the choke and it fires right up and doesn't skip a beat. The driveline is strong as well as the chassis. So, for body parts I find a '63 that doesn't run. Body is decent, but after comparing the 2, there are still a lot of significant parts that I will need to find - and there are some slight differences between the two - seat bench depth is about 11/2" difference, etc.   So before I get too deep into trying to marry these 2 to end up with one decent, I wanted to get a feel for parts availability. Probably mostly body parts: window regulators, weather stripping, door handles, vent hardware, blower switch, things like that. Otherwise, I may have to concede to the fact that this thing will just always be lacking it's original armor.   Would appreciate any feedback.   Thanks In Advance

If you check under the Parts For Sale /Swap. I believe there are a few people selling body type parts. Or you can get a Parts Vehicle. Either way, you should be able to get what you want if your willing to look. I know Jeepy (jeepcj6) has a few patrols being parted out and has a list.   Good luck, David
