At what interval should the valves be adjusted? Is this just a matter of using a feeler gauge between the rocker and the valve, Like a VW? I also noticed that it should be done while hot. How hot? Will i need to replace the Valve cover gasket? Part number?

The truck should be at full operating temperature to adjust the valves. It is a simple process. I re-used the gasket and it does not leak. The valves sound SO much better since I did this! The service manual gives a description of what order the valves are adjusted in and how to determine where to set the crank at. Pretty easy stuff. If you don't have it let me know and I can try to dig it out... -Jeff

Thanks for the reply. Any help that could be given would be appreciated. I made an attempt but the results are NOT good! The manual i have has no description of how to do it it just lists the clearances .038-.040.
