Help!!
Obviously, it can be many things. First of allcheck the dwell angle and then the timing sinceyou replaced the points. Was it running goodprior to the tune-up? It is possible that thereis some other problem with the fuel deliverysystem but it is most likely ignition since thatis what was tinkered with. Try that and see whathappens. Let me know. Sorry about the other 3messages. My computer went hay-wire.-Jeff

the truck was running good then all of a sudden the thing was running on only 5 cyllinders the we gave it a tune up. thats when all hell broke loose. we then re timed it to 10 rechecked the points then we checked the gap in plugs basically we've done everthing. thats why we need help. Ill tell you what I mean by crap. when you excellerate the thing goes and slowes and then goes and slowes like its not getting gas. blew the line out during the fuel tank clean out . Still dazed and confused !!

Not to sound stupid or anything, and this is obvious enough that you probably already did it, but double check the firing order and make sure the wires are correctly hooked up, I once was present when a guy fired up a toyota he had just tuned up and got the wires in the wrong order on, talk about running like shit.

I am confused a tad. In one message your engine was running fine before the tune-up. In another you were running on only five cylinders - and hence I presume this provided the incentive for the tune-up. If the latter, you must establish what caused the one cylinder to stop firing. It may have been something more than ignition components that were failing. Have you done a compression test to ensure valves and piston rings are doing their thing?

When you tear your engine apart, could you photograph it for the Club? Those photos could be invaluable for us in the future. If you have only prints, you can send them to me to scan in. Let me know. Thanks, and good luck! Steve
