Okay, I am not sure if I will have the capital yet to do this (financing for my business start up money is not going well) BUT, I have started to get some set up and screen printing estimates for having Patrol tee-shirts printed.  They will have a red Patrol KL-60 and the words below it will say NISSAN PATROL 145 HP 4-WHEEL DRIVE.  I think I am just going to have it printed on white tee-shirts.  If you want to see the art work let me know and I'll e-mail it to you, or, I don't know, maybe I'll just post on the site.  If you think you might want one, I won't know cost til I get the estimates back, but knowing how many and in which sizes might be helpful to me.  You don't need to commit now, I will have them available on my website once that is up and running, hopefully late this fall.

Attachment worked. For the uninitiated, the picture may not look too jazzy. Maybe one with the top off would be more sporty Alex. Also maybe add some words. For example "Everyone tried to copy it...but none did!". or..."Like the Everready Bunny it just keeps ticking!". ; ; Maybe other Patrol afficianados would have ideas for catchy words. ; ; Just building on your good idea Alex.

I chose the red because I thought it would stand out more than the other choices.  I also chose that one for the view, I want the truck to be clear and recognizeable, I worry that with out the top the lines might not keep it recognizeable.  I don't want anyone saying "nice Land Cruiser". I get so tired of that.  You know, I've even had people call my Patrol a Land Rover, and even once a guy said it was an old mail jeep!  Anyway.  I had considered a green one with a tan soft top, but I just thougth the Red stood out nicely.  The words are straight from Nissan's own advertising, right down to the colors and lettering, I like that it is it's history.  If I do a tire cover I wanted to make one that looked like one of the originals you can see in some of the brochures.  I pulled and manipulated everything from the many brochures I have.  So far Joel, you are the only one who wasn't impressed.  Why don't you look at all the brochures I have posted in the albums section and give me some more specific suggestions on truck choices, I'll see what I think.  I had though of a slogan like "the truck that tamed the outback" or something, but I still like Nissan's own original campaigns, just adds such a historic touch, I don't know.  Come on everyone, give me some more feedback, I am really close to giving this thing to the printer, probably next week.

I looked at the attachment and I say go with it as is.  It looks like what I have sitting in the yard, only better.  Good work.  I'll buy.  Just say when.

If I were you alex I would just leave it at that. The shirt woudl be pertty cool and you know I will buy. If you use a slogan use onbe of the nissan ones.  Also I woudl out on the back of the shirt front shirts remind me of the car shows my dad made me goto as a kid.  How about a just the word TOUGH on the front and the pic and stuff on the back. I guess I was thinking about cost when thinking about the design.  On a plain white shirt I don't have to print the white parts so it is one screen less I have to apy for set up for, as it is there are going to be 3 screens, one blue, red and black.  And as far as printing on both sides, again, that is more screens I would have to pay for set up for.  As it is, with set up fees and printing fees I will only be able to afford say 20 shirts to begin with (though I would like to do 40 I don't think I can afford it, I am going to have to put this on my credit card as is, I figure I can go back and have more printed at a later date) and to spread out the set up fees over so few shirts....You know what would look cool on the front with my art work on back, just a Nissan logo, like 3 inch crest where a pocket would be, again, that's how many colors and screens to pay for?  I don't know.SO.... WHAT SIZES DO I ORDER?  I was thinking mostly XL with a few XXL and a few L, but what if someone wants one for their kid, any smalls?  Or a wife or girlfriend might be just a medium?  I need more input here guys.....

I Like the idea of the nissan logo on the front and the patrol picture on the back. Even if you left the nissan logo off the front I think the patrol should go on the back. I think you have the right idea for sizes. I may order 1 or 2 larges myself. Keep us posted. Speck

Okay, this is how I feel, if the art goes on the back the front would be naked, and when I think about the Nissan logo, apart from the multiple colors which cost a minimum of $25 per screen (cheap I think), there is also the obvious copyright infringement problem, ad I am not about to pay fro Nissan licensing.  SO, another brainstorm, think about the steering wheel in say a '65 Patrol, what it has in the center?  A big capital N and in smaller caps under it PATROL.  This could be done in a single color like black (which the printer will have to be set up for anyway) and would then only cost me one more screen set up.  I think we are pushing the cost of these puppies up to at least like 24 or 25 bucks by going with 2 sides and another screen, but if no one minds...  I like the idea of it on the back and I feel it would then need something small and in the crest position on the front, and I think the only way to keep this affordable is to do it one color/screen, so now I like this steering wheel logo idea on the front.  THERE, now how is this shaping up?

Alex;  Your shirt idea is great! Sighn me up for one right now! I'll probably want to order one for the "Missus", too. We'll both have to go for size "L". A toddler size would be nice too. You have obviously given this idea much thought and I would say go with it. Keep me posted!
