Opening the dash for Patrol 2001 GU

Post by npca-jso »

Hi! I need help on how I can open up the dashboard in order to access the back of the stereo head unit.   I am currently adding a sound system and I want to make sure that I open it up the right way so that I don't do any damage to the dashboard and avoid squeeky noises due to the improper opening of the dash.   I need few directions on where I should start opening it up.   Thanks.

The easiest way I found to open the center console is the following Find one of the little accesories "plug in" covers. (little rectangle plastic covers-ussualy black), take it of with a small flat screwdriver.( the ones for fog lights, etc but not used) with that off youll have a grip for pulling off the central console plastic cover. pull it off gently with the help of the srewdriver. I use this technique cause it is more unlikely to leave marks in plastic cover. Remember....be gentle
