SD33 Ignition timing.

Post by npca-poff1973 »

How do I adjust the ignition timing on a SD33 diesel. I have repaired all injection nossles, but the opening pressure is now 110Kg instead of 100Kg so I need to adjust the injectorpump to get an earlier ignition. I also need to give it more fuel. Is it possible to adjust the fuel amount from the outside of the pump or do I have to open it?   Jan-Eric Enlund / Finland   Nissan Patrol MK -85 SD33

As for the getting more fuel, you can do that from out side the pump. you have a lock nut on the back end of the pump which you twist out to regulate the fuel flow into the pump. I just gave it a 3/4 twist and it is much better. I know the feeling when you have your fuel line closed full, you wonder why this engine came with a first gear !!!! ha ha sal
