HEI distributor:

I've seen pictures on this site of an engine rebuild that had an HEI (Chevy type) distributor. Which distrubutor (part number) is it and how is this adapted to the patrol engine/electrical system? Thanks in advance.

You need to get an HEI distributor from the GM inline 250. the years are 77-early eighties. You can find the distrubutor in some Novas, Vans and trucks. The distributor shaft is the same diameter as the Patrol shaft. You might want to shorten the HEI dist. shaft and take the drive gear off your Patrol dist. shaft and secure it on the HEI dist. Also you part of the dist shaft that runs the oil pump needs to slightly grinded down to fit perfectly on the Patrol.
