Electrical/Amp Meter

Hi All,   Last fall when putting in a new battery, I touched the positive terminal where it shouldn't have...  To the best of my knowledge, the only thing that burned up was the Amp Meter in the dash.  However I haven't had time to test the alternator too.  Does anyone know if there is a way to rebuild (solder in a new wire) the meter?  Anyone have one for sale?  I have bypassed it with a wire sticking out of the dash, but would like to get back to the original look:)  If you have an extra '69 with a good dash amp meter, please let me know at xpatrolx@yahoo.com.  I have some parts to trade or would pay for it.    Thanks Shane
