1966 patrol starter?
Well, 3 years ago I had mine out and took it to a parts shop to find an identifying number I could use to get another one, they found one and ordered it and when it came in it was not the same, so I had mine rebuilt, turns out my problem was not the starter but a missing tooth on the fly wheel as I expected, but that's another story, so when the rebuild guy was reconditioning my starter he told me it was put together from 2 starters, the cast part where it bolts on is original but the sheet metal casing and guts are from another, it seems to work just fine, and if all else fails I could try to dig up the number of the starter that I once ordered and you could take your old one and the new one and have them built into a frankenstarter like mine, just a thought, weird I know, but hey, we're talking Patrols here

What is the OEM part number for the starter? I found a place that has quite a selection of Hitachi starters. I just need the number and I'll let everyone know if it is available. David
