SD33 in a 60 series engine bay photo

I know this is where we are supposed to ask about available parts etc but does anyone have a photo of a Patrol 60 series with a sd33 in the engine bay, original, stock.?

The 60 series Patrol never came with an SD33 stock, original. It's going to be a little tough to find pictures of that.

Don't know if these are SD33's or not but they look similar. Don't know where I got the pictures either but I saved them for reference. Just thought it might help.

I think the bottom 2 are from the Patrol on Ebay right now, the one with the matching trailer. I'm pretty sure that was an SD33.

Yes, I looked it up and they are. The bottom two are an SD33 from the light blue patrol with matching trailer currently on ebay. The top picture is another patrol with an SD33 but I don't know who's.

I remember now. The first one is in a G61 sitting in Chatsworth. It never did get completed.

The yellow sd33 was in the blue Patrol for sure. Jumpmaster or sarge was the guys handel. The guy said it did not turn out as he'd hoped and sold it the second he was "done" rebuilding.
I asked the question about this configuration because I think it ideal but wasn't sure if I was dreaming. I like the idea of a sd33 turbo in a Patrol L60 but still have not heard or seen a clean set up. I must be dreaming.

Well I looked for an hour and I can't find the pictures I know I have of it. This is the best I can do:



I was taking a picture of the canvas top but the hood is open and you can see a corner of the SD33 in there.

He pretty much got it this far and stopped. I think he probably ran into a lack of parts situation, since there was never a stock configuration like this there are not parts for it. I know that the electrical was a big stumbling block for him; getting electrical to the glow plugs and injector pump and various relays and modules needed. I have seen the engine running, but he had to get a mechanic over to 'hot wire' it to get it started, it wasn't turn-key. I know he had to relocate the engine mounts on the frame to line up with the SD33 mounts. I provided him with a radiator but he had to have a shop move the upper inlet to the opposite side to work with the top hose coming off the SD33. It was one thing after another. Then he realized it didn't have the 4 speed transmission in it, it was the 3 speed, etc, etc.

I have to be out that direction in a couple of weeks. I guess I need to stop in and see him again and see what's up with the G61.

Poor guy. I hope he makes something of it. I wonder if he wishes he had just stuck with the "P" engine.
