Since I bought Softie three years ago, it has sat pretty much untouched while I got Willies Patrol running and in a car show. Now that I have had some spare time, I have been busy pulling the old motor out and installing another back in. I had a spare set of clean front fenders and a fairly clean grill also so i decided to remove the rusty bent old stuff off and put the newer stuff on to get it closer to being ready for restoration.

There are a bunch of other pics that are posted in the gallery showing the in between steps of installing motor removing old sheet metal and current state...
More to follow in the coming days..
Plan on pulling right front fender and inner panel and clean up and install new fender to match the left front..
Then it will be rewiring entire vehicle.
finding a stock driver's seat
completing the soft top frame ( I now have the key tin pieces that surround the doors... just need to bend up the tubing to match the original pieces
find the pattern for the soft top or just add my name to RiverPatrol's list of those waiting for a new canvas top..

just a quick easy painless inexpensive process... not...

They all start out that way!! Fenders are looking good already. I've found the hardest part about replicating the soft top frame is getting the radius of the bends right.

My wife bought me a new die for my tubing bender that should do the trick... hopefully. Not sure I can get the correct radiuses of the bend.. The new die for the bender has a 5 inch radius which I think is just a bit too large... but should be close enough... I am going take a look at the measurements documents that are posted to see if there are any given on the drawings... Unless anyone out there is willing to get me the measurements of the radius.. Thanks

Did you use the bender after all that, how'd it go ?, or did you buy the soft top from the new memebr with the 69. My memory is 50 years older then me
