Another new patrol owner

Post by Tknc »

Hello, I recently purchased most of a 69 Patrol. I say most because it does not have an engine, transfer case or transmision, but when i saw it i had to have it! I also purchased a 1982 Jeep J10 pick-up and am thinking about swaping the running gear over to the Patrol. It does not have the vin plate but the frame numbers are L60-25333 so the registry can be updated. Would be interesting to find out how it ended up from Ebay to being display in a craft store in north Carolina. I am sure as get farther into the project I will have many questions. Thank you to all who started the forum.

Oh, this sounds like a great story. I can't wait to hear more about the origins of this Patrol. A display in a craft store? Wow. Need pics!
If it's a 'true' '69 it should have a VIN plate on the left door jamb/'B' post. Can you get me a picture of the frame number?
Hey, I have a rolling chassis with motor, trans transfer that is a '69; if you're die-hard serious maybe something can work out.

Welcome to 60Patrol! :banana-wrench: :happy-jumpgreen:

Okay, I did some digging. You can tell how sick I am by the crazy stuff that I save. I found a picture of your Patrol and the text from the eBay listing. It sold for $1200 on 6/14/08. Here is the listing:

1969 Nissan Patrol. Right off it has NO engine, transmission, or transfer case. Do have drive lines, axles are great condition and interior like brand new again. The interior has not been installed in the vehicle yet. Started this project 1 year ago got about 95% of body and rust take care of at Maccoo auto and body paint. All it needs is some touch up area and a paint job and the bodys done. The engine I was going to put in this vehicle was going to be either  cummins diesel or a landrover engine. This vehicle sits 6 people and even though in the pictures it dosen't look that great I have ALL the orginal parts from 1969 for this Nissan. Including the orginal spare tire.Doors and top come off, almost like a Safari Landrover. This is a great project car if someone is interested, you will not be disappointed. Need to sell, own a trucking company and has been really bad for us since diesel sky rocketed. Free shipping to all 48's and lower part of Canada. For international: fees will be included on top the vehicle for whatever it sells for, for a container. Any questions, call Mark 1-858-583-1852. Thank you and good luck.

It was located in Valley Center, CA, which is just north of San Diego. Here is the pic from the listing:
