First thing is finding a motor and T&T period. It may be tough but you might be surprised when you start hunting in earnest. Search those craigs listings etc for a Nissan "P" engine or just get a donor. Now that we can see your Patrol it is clear that you need a donor. Really try to find one that does not kill you because of transport.

Wow, so close and yet so far. I find it very interesting that someone put so much effort into the body and paint when all it really is is a shell on wheels. Yes, it can be done. I am with bosque - find a donor vehicle. Here's a tip you'll want to heed: make sure that donor vehicle is a '68 or '69, that way you will end up with compatible parts that you need. That's if you decide to stay with stock. You mentioned originally that you might put a Jeep or something underneath it.
