Clutch disk availability
I have been presented with an opportunity to purchase eight (8) clutch disks manufactured by AISIN and distributed by Aisin World Corp. of America. Their internal part number was DN070 which interchanges with the follow Nissan part numbers:
3010050000
3010050001
3010058000
3010058001
3010080000
3010080001
This clutch disk was originally supplied to EXEDY/Daikin for inclusion in their clutch kit R101N. Since EXEDY/Daikin no longer offers the kit, there is no perceived market for the Aisin clutch disk.
My question to you:
At what price would it be advantageous for you to purchase a new clutch disk to have available if you need to replace yours in the next 2-3 years? (I personally keep extra parts for my projects on the shelf, and do offer them to others if the need arises. However, I do not want to be sitting with 8 clutch disks for many years!)
Thanks,
Keith

Re: Clutch disk availability
Found that Bruce still has some NOS Nissan discs on Ebay Keith. I wonder how the 2 would compare??? http://www.ebay.com/itm/Nissan-Patrol-6 ... e8&vxp=mtr

Re: Clutch disk availability
These guys have Nissan made discs cheaper than Bruces on Ebay(see above post) http://www.datsun311parts.com/index.php ... &Itemid=75 Now the way I see it $130-$160 buys a new Nissan heavy duty disc. Their a bear to change. I would need to "know somehow" that the aftermarket ones are just about as good and heavy duty. Then we come to price. If they check out ok and the price is right grab em "if" you can get 5 or 6 others to take 1. Good luck Keith!

Re: Clutch disk availability
I think for now, with so little interest, I will not pursue buying the eight disks. Once the supply of Nissan disks evaporates, then there may be more interest in these aftermarket parts.

Re: Clutch disk availability
That's probably the best way to go. So far clutch disks haven't been very hard to locate. Now, if it were something like waterproof distributors I would be all over stocking up on a few.
Beyond any hope for intervention

Re: Clutch disk availability
You can get the clutch discs in Australia of the shelf. Not sure on price, so I dont think it would be worth your while
