Dad's Patrols (old photos from back in the day)

I was hunting through some of Dad's photos a few weekends ago and came across some more G60 photos from back in the day.

They might not be the most interesting in the world - but I thought I'd share them.

First off - Dad's Red G60.
He had this one when I was born - but sold it shortly afterwards ( I must have been expensive) so I don't have any clear memories of it. This was the mid 80s - so it can't have been very old when he bought it.
Dad added the flares, bigger tyres, and the bullbar. He also added the pinstripes using contact.

The White G60



After a few years without a 4wd, Dad couldn't stand it anymore - so along came the white G60 that I can remember quite well.
Once again it had contact-paper pinstripes. Like the Red one, this was an ex-Forestry vehicle.

HEY LOOK - IT'S ME!
No - not the fella in the blue - I'm in the G60 (of course). Approx age 4-5.




Note the numberplate - NP4004. Apparently stood for Nissan Patrol 4x4 - in the days before custom numberplates.




Not a G60 - but some of the other cars on the trip - including a Halflinger.

Great pictures Jawa, thanks for sharing them! It looks like those trips were a lot of fun. It seems that patrol addiction is a hereditary affliction!!

This might be a dumb question, but, how'd the tire fall off?!

I like the Landy shot...Its cool to have another example of the patrol pulling a different vehicle out of trouble... seems there are a lot of pictures like that, lol.

I don't think I've ever seen one of those halflingers before, but then I got thinking that I might have seen one for sale in colorado a while back. Not the wheeled version, though. Found a link to some pics of a restored "snow weasel".

Those pics got me wondering about a difference I see a lot in the Oz patrols... the four windows in the back and the slope in the roof over the cab area. When did this change happen? Are those rooves fiberglass?

they were shipped without tops... Either to save weight, space, or taxes??
