Window Regulator

Post by fireballjw »

I am looking for window regulators for my Patrol. It was fitted with plexiglass windows when I bought it. I have found window frames, but I am having trouble finding regulators to fit inside the doors. Anyone have a suggestion.
Thanks

Hey fireball, welcome to 60Patrol!

What year is your Patrol? The regulators changed a bit over the years.

What condition is your Patrol in? There is a 4x4 journalist that is looking for a Patrol to do a write up on, and he's in NW OH. Maybe your Patrol could be a star! Post up some pictures and let us see!

Hmmm, plexiglass windows in Ohio? Could this be Mystery Patrol? Did you buy it from a guy named Brad???

Look anything like this???

The Patrol is a 67. The plexiglass was okay for California, but here in Ohio I need windows. I bought it from a guy named Aki in San Fran. It is in pretty good shape except for the window frames that were deleted. Not sure why anyone would do that but it was done. I think that I might be able to use regulators from a early 70s pickup. If I can't find a reg to work, I might make them power. That might drive you purest crazy but it would fit easier, and be kinda cool. I will post pics later but you can see pics of it on my website www.fireballtrucks.com.

Oh, you're that Patrol! Cool! I've admired that Patrol for a while.

Well, I are one of them anal purists, but I can appreciate a clean, non-invasive mod any day. I think that even with power windows you'll need a regulator of some sort. I just threw away a couple regulators, but they truly were trash. I might have others but I haven't finished sorting through everything yet.

Are you going to need the window frames and glass also?

Hey Joe, im glad to see you joined up here, welcome! ...sorry I haven't sent you the email I promised with those links, yet. I got a little distracted the last few days.

I was thinking also of the guy in denver, with the list of leftover parts on craigslist... he's got a set of doors, iirc, and might have the regulators to go with. The one in chicago I mentioned just seems to have door frames, no guts in them...

I meant to ask you about the drive from Sanfran to Portland in your trol... what were your impressions of the ride and power going through the mountains...? How about the top speed you hit? that must have been a great road trip.
