I wanted to change this belt today. Any tips? Is this the fan belt that I can get at Napa? Part 25-24476?

That sounds like a very good plan of attack.

Changing the belt is pretty easy. You just need to loosen the bolt at the top of the alternator the holds it on the bracket. This is your adjustment. Loosen it just enough so you can slide the alternator towards the engine; you might need to loosen the bolt on the lower alternator bracket also. This will give you enough slack to remove the belt. Put the new belt on, and use a long pry bar or screwdriver to pull the alternator away from the engine. While you are applying pressure to the pry bar the belt should be taught. Now tighten the bolt on the alternator bracket.

There might be a part number on the old belt that the parts store can cross reference to.

napa B45 50 is what I have on for a belt.
Your heater is fairly easy to fix if the core and a rad shop can coordinate.
The boots for a 69 were rubber, my 62, 65, and 67 used vinyl originally. There were some rubber ones for sale on ebay that I bought but the rubber broke down within 4 months. I tried to work it out with the owner, (edit)Bernardo/OEM Alternatives, but he is so lazy with his biz and does not bother to read and look at photos but rather blames you. Here is a shot of the boot that failed (the others were fine so it can be done, just no consistency or return policy in reality. Almost a good product!

Just to clarify, the seller IS NOT schluderm with the store 311parts. Ebay seller schluderm always sells quality products and is quick to correct any problems.

Just to clarify, the seller IS NOT schluderm with the store 311parts. Ebay seller schluderm always sells quality products and is quick to correct any problems.

Schluderm has been out of the twin stick boot for years. The other guys selling cheap copies! Seems to be all that available anymore.

I posted yesterday a number of choices for the fan belt, including the one you mentioned. I'm copying them again:

Gates 152

Napa 25-24476 (NBH 2524476)

Dayco 24480, L:48” W: 0.75” (19mm)

I will go with the Dayco, because it's a Dayco. With Napa, you might end up with who knows what, even from China. The Dayco belt (purchased from Rockauto at $11+Shipping) is the cog belt type, very flexible and Made in the USA.

I gave the NAPA part and the guy said they didn't have it. He gave me part 22474. It's very close to the belt that I took off. Its fit fine. Will it work?

I was replacing the thermostat today and heard something fall to the ground. Check this out. Not good. It happened as I was tightening the bolt.

If there is enough thread to tighten the top down, and the break isn't into the water chamber, you should be okay.

If the belt fits, use it. The difference is probably in the width.
