60Patrol

Hey! I was in a car show 2 weeks ago, and a person who works for Nissan , is working on a new ad campaign for the 80th anniversary and has asked for me to maybe be in the ad. I have to go to LA the week of July 21st for a photo shoot. I am hoping to put as much stock items on my Patrol as possible. It is not a done deal, but would like to get stock just incase.

I have most of the parts but I am missing, stock wheels, windshield hold downs. Anyone have some to sell?

Question: Was the outside mirror painted?
What are the stock wheel size and tires.?
Hinge colors? body? grey?

Too cool! That's always a great compliment. And for NIssan - wow!

I might have some windshield hold downs, they will be gray though. That was the stock interior color unless it was a soft top or post '67.

Stock wheels were 15" split rims. Tire sizes varied a little, it should be listed in one of the brochures.

So how was the car show?

Door hinges and windshield what color? grey? This vehicle has been painted a few times and I am no longer sure what stock is on the mirror. Do you have a catch for the back passenger door, I have the latch but I need a the catch that is on the door?

The car show was cool it was called the Nissan Jam, held at Connel Nissan right near me. I didn't win anything but was treated like a celebrity because I had the Patrol. They did an interview with me also. There are a few youtubes of it and some photos out there, but it was only a 70 car show, with newer vehicles also. The guy taking photos for Nissan is the guy contacting me now. Funny the color of mine is the same as your dream garage patrol, in the add. But neither are true datsun blue.

Well I sure thought your's was an original color. Look at this post of Sierra Patrol's Patrol. The interior is the original stock color, and it sure looks like yours. Yeah, the Dream Garage Patrol isn't (wasn't?) a stock color, but that was the color ad guys wanted it.

Door hinges were body color; hood hinges and engine compartment were gray.

It occurred to me today, that no matter what my Patrol looks like in the ad I will have to maintain that. Or no one could recognize it in a junkyard and drag it home.
