Hey everybody, I'm going to try to put together a disc brake setup for the front axle of the Patrol. It will take a few weeks, but I will post the progress. Wish me luck!

Sorry, I've been asleep at the switch. The conversion I did was not a kit, but a custom fabrication of some caliper mounts to utilize readily available GM disck brake calipers/rotors. The rears consisted of mid 80's Cadillac Seville/Eldorado backing plate and rear calipers mounted to a custom mount cut and drilled from some 3/8 mild steel plate. The front used the backing plate from a 77 Chevy K1500 4wd truck front. The center was cut out and replaced with another custom cut and drilled piece of 3/8 plate. The custom ring fit over the six studs on the axle flange. The rotors were from two different year Chevy trucks (both for front applications) Front was a nominal 1.25" thick and the rear was a nominal 1" thick. I had to have the centers opened up at a machine shop to fit over the front hubs. I did the rear just for looks. The rotors are sandwiched between the hub and wheel, allowing removal without taking the bearings apart. The proportioning valve came out of the same eldorado I got the cores for the calipers from. The eldo is set up for the 4 wheel disc already and the rear caliper has a mechanical e-brake setup which I have not cabled yet. The master cylinder is for a 67 corvette, non power unit. Also setup for 4 wheel disc (no residual valve on rear). I had to fab a bracket to move the MC out in front of the clutch MC as the vette cylinder is much larger than the original unit. If I had to change anything at this point, it would be to figure out how to convert to a power assisted MC. I have been considering a BMW unit which utilizes power steering pump pressure for the assist, but I would need to add a PS pump. Big problem is no room for a vacuum booster.
