WTB trim ring for parking brake

Post by Socalwrencher »

Hi I'm looking for the trim ring that secures the rubber boot to the floor board. Let me know what you have.

Alex,
The rubber boots have a cleft between the double layered bottom/base. Those two layers sandwich the tranny hump metal. The 69's had all rubber boots while the earlier Patrols had vinyl on the ebrake and double shifter but rubber boot on the gear shifter. Trim pieces were designed for the vinyl type boots. I did mod the trim pieces on the rubber though because it held better but now have made some proper vinyl copies with rubber on the gear shifter still.

His Patrol is a '65, so his would take the vinyl boots which need the trim pieces.
Beyond any hope for intervention

Sorry Alex. I did not remember you have a 65. They did have the trim rings which are a pain to find but also can be fabricated fairly easy. FYI, The rubber gear shifter never had any trim ring.

Aluminum would work. Also, the capture nuts in the trans cover will allow a tiny bit of forgiveness for you hole placement.
BTW, I have two sets of vinyls ready to ship now if need be. http://www.60patrol.com/forum/viewtopic ... e&start=15
