I thought my firewall mounted mirror was correct until I saw the real deal. The head I think is off of a Jeep and it was modified to fit. I decided to look for something better since Ron can make the arms. Here is my solution for attaching most mirrors to you existing hardware. This mirror is plastic but it is chrome and easy to replace the mirror in it. It is 5" dia. which you can find this size in any craft store for a few bucks. The mirror below came with the convex type and I broke it out and put a flat mirror. Most replacement mirrors have a ball stud that is 1/4" 20. So I found an aluminum ball knob on ebay that is 5/8 dia with a 1/4 " 20 bore and attached it to the back of the stud. I think this will work for most ball stud mirror either square or round.
