The Patrol Disease -- How many do you own?
Howdy All!
So Jay (my eight year old) and I were looking at Patrol pictures and he was shocked at how many Patrols were in one of River's pictures (four showing) and he noted that she had at least four... like us. So, Jay wants to know how many Patrols you own right now... We'll start:
We have four - a soft top '67, a hardtop '67, a hardtop '66 and a slowly disappearing parts, no-top '66
John, Jay and Family

Nice pictures there. Now you'll have to upload your stable John.
I only have one: A 1965 Canvas Top
For a time, while I was in Ecuador, I used to have another 74, and a 160 series wagon. And for a brief time in 1981, I had my 65, and three 74. I kept one of the 74. I can say (not proud at all) that I've managed to total a Patrol. My 74.

Re: The Patrol Disease -- How many do you own?
Believe it or not, I always have to stop and think when I'm asked that question. Probably because the truth is embarrassing.
I currently have a grand total of 10 Patrols, one of which is a parts donor. The other nine either run or would run without too much effort. I have scrapped 5 Patrols and sold 2 parts donors. So that means I have had a total of 17 Patrols.
I have imported 1 1/2 from Australia and one from Saudi Arabia. All of the rest came from somewhere in the US: 2 in CT; 2 in VA; 1 in NE; 2 in CO; 1 in WY; 6 in CA.
This is the inventory:
1966 red hard top - show vehicle. Stays covered in the garage. Runs.
1966 soft top - waiting for it's turn to be worked on
1966 hard top - waiting for it's turn to be worked on
1968 soft top - very good original condition, runs
1968 hard top - good original condition, runs
1965 hard top converted to soft top - in process of getting it running
1969 hard top - fair original condition. Runs great, used off-road frequently in the past.
1965 hard top - parts donor
1979 extra long bed pickup/ute - should run soon
1977ish pickup/ute - needs a little TLC to run
Here is a pic including some of them from earlier this year:
This is a collage that includes all but 2 of them:

Yes, I have 7. But they are all parts donors but 1. Godzilla is my daily driver. I named it godzilla because a couple years ago when I took it to the exhaust shop my buddy called me up and said: Godzillas' done. I said: Godzilla? He said: yes Godzilla, it looks like the vehicle that Godzilla crushes and kicks around in them old movies. So it stuck.
and yes Leslie i may talk smack! But i would like to have every one of yours. He He im sick too!
