Saw this at Cars & Coffee:
A local near me has one.....says he gets 24 mpg.

"Ralle" decal on the side of these with a "diesel" metal emblem decifering that it has a sd33.

If we're talking dream diesel conversions, I guess I'd just find a donor 95-2001 Dodge truck and yank the 5.9 Cummins and a 5 speed out of it, and mate that up to an Atlas T-Case...
Then I'd have a Patrol that would get 20+mpg, and be able to tow a coal-barge

when is Nissan going to get into the diesel truck business? i have often thought of mixing the new Frontier or Titan four wheel drive parts into a Patrol.

I have too. The current 4.0L would be the perfect choice. The Atlas II will actually mate up to the tranny. The twin shifters fit in the cup holder area of the Frontier/pathfinder/Xterra. There is little to no stand alone engine management system support for our drivetrains. They already are, just no market for it in the US. Most of the Navaras (Frontier) in Oz have diesels and then theres the Cab Chassis Patrols as well. Due to the huge cost of fuel down under jamming a big V8 under the hood to get the power you need isnt the popular option so most 4x4's are sold with a diesel.sleepyzzz wrote:when is Nissan going to get into the diesel truck business?
Who knows, with the rising cost of fuel in the states it could be somthing you see more of in the future.

oh there is a market for it for sure. Dodge, GM, and Ford all offer diesel engines in their trucks and sell them every day. Nissan has been late to the game before, and seems to be catching up, but not fast enough to suit me.
the little Rogue i purchased for the wife is only available in a four banger. everywhere else that rig is sold you can get a V Six for it. as far as gas getting higher, i don't see that. we are too busy fracking and drilling private land for oil and gas.
