Gas Cap

I need one for my Patrol. Any one have a part number? I'm using a big Bolt with a large washer now. Came that way when I bought it. Looks cool, not so fuctional.

Got a cap that works today, Gates# 31722. Little tricky to get off but does work. Kind of a 2 stage turn deal. It looks like it should be behind a door but it works!

I do have 2 or 3 spare original locking fuel caps, they need keys for them though

Do you really? Any chance they work with out locking? Or is it possible to get them keyed. How about a pic or 2. Like to see what they look like for sure Micheal.

Yes IrishPatrol i do have a few spare original locking fuel caps, it wouldn't be an issue getting keys cut for them as there is number on the key barrel . I found 2 but I am certain I have another chrome one about the shed somewhere

that is really nice of you to dig those out. the one missing the cover can be fixed. Datsun parts stocks that also. good deal. and if anyone is looking at buying that replacement cap that Dean offers at D P let me know. i can take my gas cap off the roadster and see if it fits the Patrol. i would bet a 10 spot that it does. and yes the caps will work without the key if the lock is retracted. the key throws out a flat blade that keeps the cap from screwing off. so if the blade is sticking out, it won't let you screw the cap in.

Micheal, Love to have the one with the cover. Lets talk about shipping and payment. I will soon have a Water Resistant distributer available W/ cap. just missing the screw caps for the wires. Probubly not interseted in that. But lets talk.
