My 73 was broken into

My 73 is normally in storage in a secure carpark of a unit block.

Received a call from the police and the carpark owner today advising a number of cars had been broken into including the 73, they thought there was damage and stuff missing from the dashboard.

As expected I raced up there to check it out...

Exterior - as I walk up my compressor is sitting on the concrete floor behind the car, canvas on side looks funny. Upon further inspection they tried first to pull the canvas up from the side behind drivers door, result was bending the side panel rod, stupid twits then tried the other side and bend it out 10 times worse. Have then appeared to go through the tailgate, which really should have been the 1st option

Interior - Glovebox contents emptied all over the seat and floor, nothing appears to be missing, landlord lady said radio was missing, but upon checking my 40 year old origina radio was still there and no interior damage.

Damage - Only appears to be the two side rods bent, unsure if and soft top stiching affected as yet, will need to pull her out for a better look. Called my insurance and reported it, so if I find something I can claim. Overall quite happy with the little damage result as I was picturing slashed soft top which you know just cant be replaced. Panelwork and everthing else not so bad.

Glad to hear the damage was minor, Steve. Looks like a job done by teenagers. Were other cars badly broken into?

Sorry to hear about this Steve, Such a low and gutless act, i cant understand why people do this stuff, i think they need to get out there and get a Job. Glad to hear no major damage noticed to the 73 yet, it could of been a lot worse. Hope the Police can catch these low life's.

Defiantly not Patrollers, through the tailgate would be my first move.

Sorry to hear

Mike

Sorry to hear Swerve. Glad the top was not slashed. I have a soft top Jeep, and that is my worry when I have to park in certain areas.
I despise a thief!
