Unusual missfire

Post by G60michael »

Hi all, my 78 G60 is usually a very reliable bit of gear, and very seldom gives any trouble. I Hadn't Driven it in 3-4 Weeks and about a fortnight ago i went to move it.

When i started it up i noticed a distinct misfire and after cleaning plugs, point, cleaning Dizzy Cap, Point and rotor button and swapping over plug leads, and blowing the Carby clean there is no change at all at the misfire is still there, even tried another coil.

* Recently I took the Carby of to use on the 66 G60, when I came across VC42 i decided to go back and refit the Carby to the 78. The only other thing i had done before i started it after 3 or so weeks was remove the rear section of the wiring loom, It was from the gearbox Back, so i figured it shouldn't be the cause of the issue.

Any Help would be really appreciated, thanks

Faulty Spark Plug or Plugs. Changes over the 72 plugs and runs like a champion :) Now i have new plugs to put into the 78 :)
