purpose of emergency brake?
Hi, since the e.brake contracts transmission it seems to only work if trans is in gear. Is there a way to use it for parking wiyth trans in neutral?

I have a rough idea of how it works.
I would use it in gear personally, but the brake drum on the tail shaft, is designed to lock onto the tail shaft, so if its not in gear and handbrakes on, the brake lining are, should be jammed against the tail shaft drum,

The Hand Brake should work, hold the vehicle in place, with the transmission in neutral. If it does not then you either need to adjust the brake or replace the linings. The linings go bad pretty fast if there is an oil leak and it gets on the linings, which it usually does.

Thanks guys, it was just out of adjustment. I turned the main linkage rod several turns and now the ebrake works in neutral. Cool

Here are the instructions for adjusting the hand brake. There are 3 separate adjustments.
