Texas 69 KL60
Hello all,
I've been a member here for a bit and was a former member of the "other" Patrol site. I live in Texas and picked up my Patrol from a friend who's family had it for most of its life. I've had it now for a couple years and have made slow progress due to lack of time and $$$ but recently have made some good strides. I am a Helicopter Pilot by trade but have always been very handy and can "fix" most anything. My plan is to restore the Patrol back to as close to original as possible with a few upgrades/mods. One day I will get the old girl back on the road!!

Thanks for the background, but as you know...

Speaking of which, I am testing out a new mod for the forum that will make it easier to post pictures.

Well I was posting a write up in the Projects section but IE lost it all because it said the page had expired!!
Here is a pic of the Project in its most complete form as I forgot to take a pic before I began deconstruction!

It's one of the rare yellow ones. I like that yellow.

Yeah it has been rattle canned OD green. Not sure I'm gonna go back yellow or not though. Yellow really isn't my color

You are way ahead of my Texas Patrol... I'm not that handy. I did a good job of tearing it apart, not so much on the going back together part! Hopefully this year I can push some money to it...

Yeah I'm a bit of a neat freak. Everything has a place and everything should be in it's place!!Flaggoni wrote:The general cleanliness of your garage is disturbing...

Sadly, I'm more like, "A place for everything, but everything someplace else"
Also, just so ya know, the roof bow hasn't left Tulsa yet.
Saw that you're a heli pilot. I'm an A&P. Used to work on ag Hillers and Bell 47s near Merced, Ca.
Now I work primarily in industrial maintenance for an archaic forge shop which produces digging teeth for excavating and mining. I maintain 3 antique aircraft as a side job. I also have a private pilot license, but can't afford to put gas in an airplane...the Beech 18 I restored burns approx 50 GPH... Makes a Patrol appear miserly !
