60Patrol

i see Mississippi, Oklahoma,Texas,Tennessee, Arkansas, and Missouri boys and girls all getting together one three day weekend, as in Labor Day or Memorial Day weekend possibly? all i need is three or four to say yeah i want to do that, and i will get busy and get something started, if you want to come to NW Arkansas. I have posted a meet and greet before iirc, and at the time, we didn't have as many members as we do now, and several didn't have running Patrols. I say if we get something started, it will take off, and maybe motivate the ones that don't have their Patrols up and running yet to get them together and come play.

Did i miss any other folks nearby that would attend if we had something planned? anyone is welcome to attend, and it is just my senile old brain not remembering where our members reside,so please don't be offended if i did.

there are two great four wheeling parks that provide camping areas with showers and restrooms,(one just outside Eureka Springs, other outside Springfield, MO) but the Buffalo National River is close and there are some great Forest Service roads to run which would be free. And there are camp grounds on the river with the National Park service with rest rooms and maybe showers.

Mike (MDawg4X4) mentioned in another thread about coming up to Eureka Springs a few years back, and wanting to come back this way. With Branson, MO and Eureka Springs close by, the wife and kids could find something to do if four wheeling doesn't appeal to them( sad to say that is my better half, but I am working on that)

well what do you think guys? If we plan it far enough in advance it will give everyone time to plan for it, and get vacation days on the calendar. I can see this growing where we could even move it each year from one state to the next so everyone gets to show off their four wheeling playgrounds and their rigs. This would be an easy day's drive for most of us no matter where it was held. i hope we can do this, and emails, or private messages are welcome if you don't want to discuss on the forum.

If I took off now, not sure I'd make Eureka by Memorial Day, but should be drawing near by Labor Day...probably require inflight-refueling a few times on my way from Tulsa.
A meet-up sounds like a good idea! Keep me informed. Are there other Okie Patrols in captivity? Only seen one driving about 20 yrs ago.

There is at least one other Okie Patrol. I think it has a Dodge Hemi in it now and several other mods. I don't think it would make to it to the meet; as far as I know it hasn't moved since the owner moved residence.

I'm totally up for a meet just give me a heads up on a time and place, but I would be without a Patrol as I am estimating another year or so before mine is all done.

Memorial Day weekend is out for me, as I am headed to Durango, CO at that time. Other than that planned vacation, I don't know when I'll be able to get off. We are in the middle of tooling up to produce the 2015 Murano. I have been stuck on the new model team since late 2009 with no sign of a break in sight. Working 6-7 days a week, I don't know that I'll be road worthy or not by Labor Day either. I Wish I could get the local vo-tech to get interested in getting it road worthy...local roads anyway. I would trailer it if I were going far. I really like the idea though.

I dared to check the map to see how long it's from my house, 1100 miles. Ouch! 500, I'll do it.

Seriously I was tempted. Great idea that I hope comes to fruition.

I appreciate your replies, and if nothing else, we could say Memorial or Labor Day next year which would give everyone that wants to meet up a chance to plan on making it. If you would rather do this on a different weekend, that is fine as well.

I just figured that asking everyone to use vacation days would keep some from coming. Keep in mind, Memorial weekends are still early spring, could be cool weather, and wet. Memorial weekend will be very warm. not unusual to see 100 degree temps during the day, and that makes for unhappy wives and kids if they are suffocating in a tent at night.

i really want to see this get started and hold this every year and hopefully we will have our membership grow, and have a good time doing it.

I am definitely interested. I just already have plans for this Memorial Day, and with work, probably won't be running by this Labor Day...as bad as I want to be.

how about putting up a poll for me Mike(asking cause i am not sure how to do that) and lets vote on for 2015 Memorial Day, Labor Day, July 4 falls on Friday this year so that might be a possible weekend also, or just a random weekend ???????
using a three day weekend, will require a years planning as far as getting a camping spot no matter where we hold it, so this will work out better.


sure would like to see more speak up, so we have a better chance of getting as many to come as possible

Keep up the effort!
A random spring or fall weekend is better for me than either Mem or Labor Day due to family commitments.
