rear bumpers and license plate frame

Hi, I am missing the loop rear bumpers, and I have no rear license plate bracket. Anyone have some for sale? Also, there are several other threaded holes in the rear chasis at the back of patrol. What are they for? And what is that large tube hole for?

I think that big hole is for the backup light...

The threaded holes in the bumper are for the bumperetts and the rear step. The large hole is for a rear PTO shaft. The license plate plate holder is tack welded on, so they are usually hard to come by.

So then... I got it completely wrong! Woo hoo... and sorry. I did see one with a light installed it in -- I did wonder why it was so beefy. I thought Nissan really to backing safety seriously.

Is pto pwer take off? When I look through my pto shaft I iust see my gas tank. How does the pto shaft work?

Yes, PTO is power take off. The hole in the rear bumper for the shaft was a holdover from previous models that had the 15 gallon gas tank. The tank was smaller and didn't block the PTO shaft hole. In '66 1 /2 they went to the larger tank, and in '67 the shaft hole was no longer in the rear bumper.

hmm. so, do you think its possible mine is an early '67 since it still has the pto shaft in the rear bumper. my vin is L60-07895

Aha! I finally got your VIN from you. I've entered your Patrol into the USA Patrol Registry. Now, all I need is the engine number.

It's possible yours is an early '67, or I could be mistaken and they eliminated the PTO hole starting in '68.

Ask and ye shall receive, the original engine per id plate is p-49589. The previous owner told me he threw a rod on original engine but found a 67 donor engine. This rebuilt engine has code p-55303 stamped on it.

That's exactly what I needed! Thank you! The current engine number does fall in line with being a later '67. Nice that you still have a '67 engine in it.
