Couple nice looking Patrols popped up on ebay
Other than the seller in Florida being a very poor speller, Anyone know anything about either of these puppies?

Re: Couple nice looking Patrols popped up on ebay
These have been discussed here before.
The tan one in Florida supposedly just sold: http://www.ebay.com/itm/131265649125?_t ... EBIDX%3AIT . But it is obviously relisted. Maybe shill bidding bit him? It looks to be a pretty nice Patrol. Personal preference has me disliking the way some things were done - black undercarriage and engine - but overall it looks pretty unmolested. I think it is a low mileage vehicle.
The blue one, well, it's got some bling. That's all I'll say publicly about it. It has been relisted a few times. I'm pretty sure I have dealt with the guy that did the work on it - there's not too many '69 Patrols in 'Bama. He was diligent in his attempt to find correct parts and information.

Frame and axles are black, but the underbody should be body color or gray. And the black should be glossy, not matte or wrinkle finish. But remember, I'm an anal purist.

As an Anal purist, can you direct me to good photographic library of a stock Patrol. I can tell you the minute details about late model FJ40's and although the two share many commonalities, Patrols are not my area of expertise.RiverPatrol wrote:Frame and axles are black, but the underbody should be body color or gray. The best source are the brochures: http://www.60patrol.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=31 .
This is Lou's Patrol, a true barn find: http://www.60patrol.com/forum/gallery/a ... bum_id=186 . This is a '69 Patrol hard top, so interior color is body color as well as underbody.
This is my Patrol Togo: http://www.60patrol.com/forum/gallery/a ... lbum_id=62 . This is a '66 hard top Patrol, so interior and underbody are gray.
Here is one of my softies; Limey: http://www.60patrol.com/forum/gallery/a ... lbum_id=64 . Softies always had the interior and underbody painted body color. This one is a '68.

Re: Couple nice looking Patrols popped up on ebay
Is there a production timeline somewhere of an FAQ that gets a "newbie" up to speed quick. Questions like what year (if ever) did they get options for disc brakes, power steering, A/C, etc. When did they change from the 3-speed to 4-speed, where there engine and transmission enhancements. What is considered to be the Holy Grail?
Thanks,
Greg

Re: Couple nice looking Patrols popped up on ebay
Wikipedia might give you that type of information, we don't have anything like that here. Here, we are mainly about the 60 series Patrol. The 60 series was produced from 1960 to 1979, and it was only imported to the US rom 1962 to 1969. So the FAQs are easy: no A/C, no power steering, no disc brakes, no 4 speed. The 4 speed became available in 1980, behind the P40 engine. I don't know that any of those made it to the US.
Here is a great link for Patrol history info: http://www.earlydatsun.com/nissan60.html
Here is a pretty good timeline, although it still doesn't provide the detail you are looking for: http://patrolheritage.nissan.com.au/

Re: Couple nice looking Patrols popped up on ebay
None of those were ever an option on US imported 60 series Patrols -what year (if ever) did they get options for disc brakes, power steering, A/C, etc.
Never on the 60 Series- I think (and the anal purist will correct me if I am wrongWhen did they change from the 3-speed to 4-speed?
Purely a matter of personal opinion, but I think the holy grail of 60 series Nissan Patrols would be the WG60 Wagon, which was RUMORED to have been offered/sold in the US, but remains as elusive as Bigfoot (and the rare WG60 Wagon sightings reported all seem to come from the same types of environments that Bigfoot inhabits, so it is 100% plausible that when Bigfoot is finally verified to exist, it will concurrently be proven that he drives a 60 series wagonWhat is considered to be the Holy Grail?
