Explanation time.

In short to keep a G60 on the road in Oz is expensive, the past year it’s been registered and I have barely used it. Yes I enjoy it when I drive it, but has been more a chore to keep it, let alone enjoy it.

The most I have enjoyed a G60 was HP, not worried about scratching it, was just FUN FUN, life for us is still about building the house, has been raining here the past 3 weeks and parking our daily drivers inside, with a 2.5year old is priceless. We have since bought a caravan to go touring with James, again this is in the garage and fits with our two daily drivers. The G60 ????? well I pay again for storage or under a cover on the street. Then back to the fact, it’s a chore, so time to go.

Personally I think having the GU Patrol, wifes car, boat, caravan and now I need to finish the 72. The 72 will not be sold as I have put to many hours into it, plus once finished I want to drive it (heavy, fun 4WD) and use it like HP. With a rebuilt engine, rebuilt 3 spd, MQ locked front rear diffs, she will be fun. But storage wise it works and it is what I want to do.

Yes would be nice to keep the 73 forever, but when it is now a chore, the car will go to ruin and I want to have new fun, memories, with my son. I truly believe this is a one of a kind car in Oz, very original with many parts money just can’t buy. Whoever buys it will not fault it and hopefully will care for her as much as I have done.

Good luck Steve. I wish was rich. I'd bring it to the US.
I know how you feel. I have actually contemplated selling mine. Just keeping my Frontier habit satisfied has taken much of the money I could have put into the Patrols. It doesn't look like I will ever have time and room to work on the Patrols.

Sad to see the 73 go , but I know where your coming from, I love going for a 4b or dragging my van around behind my GQ patrol on family trips and not having to worry about it. Im building my 74 as a toy as well and although I can see why someone would want a immaculate original I would rather build a tuff 4wd, drive the guts out of it ,fix it and enjoy it
