I don't have a name for her yet but I got her in the shop and slowly started the job. Cleaning, and assessing.
Pulling apart the dash and some other small parts.
There are some strange things on this animal.

These bars were welded in on the back.
I am assuming to put in a seat on top or......?
Putting my back seat on them, my eyes are just over the windshield.

Seems like something that would have been seen on my green Patrol back when I first got it....

So I had to take a few days for family stuff, but today got to spend a few hours on the Patrol (still unnamed-haha)
Pulled the valve cover today and think it looks good. You guys think so??

The valve cover was pretty rough. Cracked and peeling paint. Oil around the filler. Obviously previous owner ran out of funnels.
It did not leak though at the head.
Lots of stripping and wire brushing and wire wheels.
Sprayed some Primer on her.
Now- The lower half of my engine is red and my upper is blue. Whats up with that?
Should I keep her blue or is it faux pax to change the color. I kinda like the red.

Lots of bolts on this thing. All came off so far. No busted ones yet. Some were pretty corroded so it took a while.
Pulled the front off and radiator out. Unbolted most of the fenders.
Tomorrow will be pressure washing.
The intake and exhaust looked corroded and rusty, but turns out after a wire wheel and wire brush, they were in great shape. The bolts unscrewed easily.
Also seems to be rewired at some point.

Everything looks great to me !
regarding engine paint -- Lots of opinions out there. For me, it's a personal choice between originality (Nissan used a medium light blue on 67's, similar to mid-70's GM blue) versus personal taste (you like red? Go for it...

)
A few of us are fairly certain that there were some early US export Patrols (62-64) that came from the factory with a red valve cover.
