Well after years of owning Jeeps, MB's and CJ's and every other type of off road and military vehicle you can imagine. I finally took the plunge and bought the one vehicle that has always caught my eye. I moved my family here to Spokane, WA just over a year ago from Eastern Oregon.

I was thumbing through the local paper and came across an ad for a '69 for $3000. Long story short I towed my new baby home for $2000. Owner has owned it for the past 14yrs and it was his love. He taught his kids to drive in it and took it with him when he moved from Oregon, (yes just down the road from where I lived) to Kentucky, back to Oregon and finally to Washington where I found it. He said that he was told that it was originally shipped to the States from South Africa by the owner at the time. I don't know if I believe that or not because I can't find any proof to support that claim.

Anyway, it has not been driven in 4 years but everything is in fantastic shape and well maintained even while stored for the last few years. There is NO rust anywhere and the red primer that you see sprayed on in the pictures are to cover scratches before it was placed in indoor storage. The only known issue that was related to me was that the "3rd" gear broke at one time and he couldn't find another so he welded it back together. He said he didn't do that good of a job and that it causes a "wobble at 40mph". So I have some investigating to do on that and will keep my fingers crossed that I can find a new gear.

I can't wait to get started on it and hope to take my kids for rides soon.

Your Patrol looks like it's in really good condition. The body is straight and relatively unmolested - definitely a plus. It's got the factory dealer installed PTO winch which is a rare item. It looks like it's probably a '68-sold-as-a-'69 because it has round front turn signals instead of rectangular ones. That's quite a brush guard on it. The hood ornament looks like the bulldog form a Mack truck.

You're in a good location for obtaining spare parts, there are a few members in your area. If you need another transmission it shouldn't be too hard to find one nearby. Keep us posted on your progress.

Welcome to 60Patrol. Looks to be in pretty good condition. Somebody put a Mack truck bulldog on the hood of the one I bought also. I think somebody else on here bought one with a bulldog on it also.
