What are we calling "serious money"? I was looking at this rig on ebay and wondered if it belonged to a forum member?

"If you can read this, turn me over!" is on the wrong side of the windshield? You can read it upside down from the inside, but it is backwards to the outside. If it wasn't for that, I would have bought it. JK of coarse. It looks pretty good from here. I am curious about the single windshield bumper and tie down?

Just my 2 cents- but anyone who wanted a good, original, low miles Patrol should bid on this one (unless you simply hate red, LOL- but as I have observed/documented several times since joining this site- red patrols seem to preserve their operational status longer than Patrols in any other color for some reason .

As someone who is currently restoring an early Patrol, naturally I want every Patrol for sale to go for a million dollars...

Looks nice from here. To answer the question about single windshield bumper, this is a transition "68 sold as 69" model.
Same as mine, but much shinier. The data plate will have no mfg date listed if it was made in 68.
Offhand, I can think of 9 differences between this and a true 69...(oops, make that 10)
(Now 11).

Like FJ40's, I see many Patrols with white or different colored tops. Would this truck have been all red from the factory? It has been repainted once. I think it would look better with a white top. IMHO

Hmmm that is a good question - I know that earlier (67 and prior) model-year hardtop Patrols mainly had white caps on the hardtops, and they also all had gray interiors, regardless of the exterior color of the truck.

In 1968, they began matching the interior color of the hardtop trucks to the exterior body color (similar to the way all soft top trucks came)... and, now that I think about it, it also seems that these 68 and later Patrols with the body-color interiors also had a body-color cap on the hardtop...

I'm sure RiverPatrol knows... she'll set us straight...

FWIW- I agree with you. Aesthetically, I prefer the white cap on the hardtop, too...

My 69 is Leaf Green inside, outside and on top. I do like the looks of the white top better though.
