I stopped by and saw it a few weeks ago. It's in sad, sad shape. It does have a few good parts... a few. It includes two tops that are really rusty, but have the sliding windows. They looked okay, but it was inside a shed so it was dark. The instrument cluster looks okay as well. It has a spring-over-axle conversion but it does not appear well done (quite badly done -- it would definitely need a redo).

Anyway, that's my two cents.

It seems that is a common sentiment regarding SOA's, and Nissan 60 series Patrols...

What a pile, oh well. the most rusted top has good sliders with good rubber, the oil sender is there, and some of the doors are good. Frame is in real bad shape, body is gone.

Is the guy as much of a A-hole in person as he is via text?

Nothing spectacular. I showed up, he walked me around his property to the various locations where he has the parts tucked away. I told him that it was too rough for me and that was that. A couple weeks later I texted him and asked if he was willing to sell parts. His response was "Nope... just the whole thing..." --

It was really, really rough. Aside from the sliding windows and that dash panel, there was nothing else I was interested in. Of course, Em and I have been thinking of cutting back to just 1 patrol so adding another to the stable was a stretch anyway. Really, I was hoping that it happened to have a Marks 5-speed in it... it doesn't.

lets just say he is opinionated. I think he thinks gold rush is real, Lake County crossed my mind at first impression. (every one from Northern California will get that)
